If you are finished, you will begin working with imagist poetry. Follow this link, and first try to identify if any of these 14 poetic elements are at work. Print these poems and mark them in the same way you did with the other poems. Then you are going to try to write your own imagist poem, focusing on creating one solid, vivid image in your poem.
Students can post comments to questions, receive updates about the class, find homework development, and find help here. Parents can also keep up with what their student is doing in class.

Final Poetry Project
The following is a list of approved options:
1. Author commentary for each poem, and poems presented in typed format.
2. Artistic representation for each genre of poetry writing
3. Multimedia: Powerpoint, Moviemaker, iMovie, Podcast,online movie software.
4. Presentation for the class: Read 2 of your own feature poems, give author's commentary, and answer questions from the audience.
5. Poetry book: Your own creation, designed and published by you.
6. Poetry reading at Barista or similar establishment (there must be a group of students willing to do this at a set time): Gather at the establishment, order coffee, hot cocoa, etc... and have a poetry reading.
You must choose one of these, and tell me what you have planned by the end of the day. You can post your plan as a comment to this blog.
