The Art of the Harlem Renaissance
Today you are going to be exploring the art of the Harlem Renaissance. Some of the themes of the art of this time include contrasts of darkness and light, urban life, pain and progress, etc... In your search, you will be searching for artists work including painting, drawings, and sculpture.
Look for any number of artists, but you must do some background research on Aaron Douglas, Palmer Hayden, and Lois Mailou Jones. You must have notes about the authors, and you must use a piece of art from one of these artist for the analysis chart on the back of your packet.

Huck Finn Research
For your short research you will research the following items:
-Why is "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" so often challenged as a book that should be banned from schools?
-How does the time period in which it was written affect the themes and topics dealt with?
